Abogen Appoints Dr. Weimin Li as President of Preclinical Research

Abogen is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Weimin Li as President of Preclinical Research. In this role, Dr. Li will oversee the company’s preclinical R&D strategy and pipeline planning, accelerate the clinical translation of pipeline programs, and further advance global innovations in RNA-based therapeutics.

With more than 20 years of experience in the biopharmaceutical industry, Dr. Li brings a global strategic perspective and strong R&D management capability. He has held senior leadership roles at leading global biopharmaceutical companies, including Johnson & Johnson, AstraZeneca, and Takeda Pharmaceuticals, with expertise spanning drug discovery, translational medicine, and early clinical development.

Dr. Li possesses a proven track record across oncology, immunology, cell therapy and other emerging therapeutic modalities. He has played an instrumental role in advancing innovative drug programs from early-stage development and contributing to NDA and BLA approvals for drugs such as Zytiga, Erleada, Imfinzi, and Imjudo.
